MUS 491 is a 1-2 credit course taught by Matt Landry, Executive Director of the Akropolis Reed Quintet, the acclaimed music ensemble formed in 2009, now performing worldwide. Using the skills learned through his entrepreneurial approach to Akropolis’ success, Matt has designed a course around the most essential elements of managing your own music career. An emphasis is placed on leadership, mindset, mentor relationships, and learning from classmates’ views and experiences. Students will have the opportunity to interview significant musicians in their field, create relevant content they can use in their career, and engage in discussion to enrich thinking about careers in the arts.
