MUS 496: Your Music Business

Making a living in the business of music can be a daunting process. Many fail because they have focused so hard on the music, and not focused at all on acquiring the business skills necessary to survive and thrive. This program is designed for those that are contemplating a small business start up, or have actually done so. It will also be of interest for those that may be contemplating joining an existing music business, but know they will struggle to master the business techniques necessary to contribute beyond their own musical specialism.

This program will be deeply tailored to the needs of the participants. Individuals will be placed in groups of similar interest, and be asked to select one member of this group’s business idea. This business idea will become the vehicle for the development of a full ‘go to market’ and financial business plan.
